The IFA allowed me to grow within myself as an actor. Each teacher is there to guide you, teaching you skills for outside the class environment. For many of these teachers, it's not just a job, they are there to support your throughout your career. Rachel Sarah Murphy caters for each individual student, personally, she went above and beyond what any other teacher has done before, and for that, I am eternally grateful.

I thoroughly enjoyed the 4 week course in August. Having never worked on camera before, the technical differences between it and the stage were profound and ably navigated by Rachel. Tom Kibbe is an inspirational fountain of knowledge and I found the whole experience to be insightful, educational and highly gratifying. I would strongly advise anybody thinking of getting involved in film acting, regardless of their age or experience to fight for a place on this course.

The IFA is a fantastic learning environment that provides you with a balance between theory and practice. Right from the offset you’re reminded of how being an actor has nothing to do with ‘acting’ and you are encouraged to get out of your head & behave instinctively. Rachael and all involved in the IFA highlight the importance of placing a greater focus on the other actor as opposed to any preconceptions you have about the character. It’s a supportive environment which allows you to form strong relationships with others in the class. For anyone looking to develop further as an Actor, I could not recommend this course highly enough.

The course I took part in in the Irish film Academy was the six month acting for camera course. I did not know a lot about the course when I first signed up but was very interested in the teachers within the school such as Rachel as I was familiar with some of their work. When I came to the Irish Film Academy it was at a time when my confidence in terms of my ability and if I was good enough to succeed was fairly low. But over the six months I gained a huge amount of experience and learned skills that improved me immensely and it brought out a creative side to me I never expected. I left the school a lot more confident in my ability and this was not only because of the teachers but because of the people I was surrounded by and the safe supportive environment I was studying in. Not only that but I also gained my first ever paid role in Red Rock and I owe this to the school and especially Rachel for putting my name out there. Taking part in this course changed my life and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who desires to act weather they have experience or not.

I have completed the August Intensive Acting for Camera course and unbelievable isn't the word to describe this experience. For the first time in my life I was given the confidence and freedom to express myself through Performing Arts and I finally felt comfortable enough to completely leave my guard down and become my part. Anyone looking to get into Acting I would highly recommend this course. Everybody I dealt with was so helpful and I made amazing new friends. I cannot thank you enough for the boost you have given me to continue with this journey! I'll be seeing you soon again!!

I attended the 4 Week Intensive Camera Training Course at IFA Dublin last August and it was the best decision I could have made regarding my ongoing training as an Actor. It included Improvisation techniques with Peter O'Byrne, Scene study for Monologue and Duologue scenes with the very lovely Ciara O'Callaghan, which was pure bliss, and also a few taster classes on Meisner Technique with Liza Michael of the well known Moment Acting Studio. We achieved a lot in 4 weeks, recorded a Monologue and Duologue scenes for Showreel. Rachel Sarah Murphy and her team are so welcoming, helpful and very supportive. The Irish Film Academy offers many different courses and I am always on the lookout for courses and workshops for continuous development. Don't be afraid - Dare to Dream and give them a call

I”ve been with the IFA for nearly 2 years. It has changed my life completely. Before I started I had no confidence and didn’t believe in myself at all. Well that all changed thanks to the Academy. The IFA is my life and has made me even more hungry for acting now than ever. Rachel, Helena, Liza, David, Graham, Terry, Jemma, David K, Peter and Gene etc have all been very good to me. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have learnt what I did. I am going places now thanks to the IFA. The best time of my life now and forever.
